The Winnemucca Hotel was constructed in four sections between 1866 and 1915. The Winnemucca Hotel served travelers and locals alike. Early on it was utilized as a gathering place for community events and meetings. It even housed physicians, who would care for the ill in the hotel, as well as other professionals who would take up temporary quarters and offer their services.
Winnemucca Hotel was widely known as a Basque restaurant and boarding house. It even featured a pelota court out back.
